Job summary

Martin Veasey Talent Solutions seeks a General Manager Operations to lead a multi-site logistics operation in Cambridgeshire and drive a significant growth agenda. You will own warehousing, transport, and quality across sites, reporting to the CEO, and will build the leadership layer beneath you.

The package includes £85,000 to £95,000 base, plus a bonus, a company car and benefits, with a defined route to Operations Director as the business doubles in size over the next three years.

Qualifications

• Senior operations leader with warehousing as primary discipline and strong transport experience.
• Owns a profit and loss or large budget and can build, defend and present it.
• Has integrated an acquisition or a major contract.
• Has accountability for quality and compliance in an accredited food environment.
• Career history across large then medium-sized businesses showing discipline and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire operation, reporting to the Chief Executive across warehousing, transport, contract packing, quality and compliance.
• Own the operating budget and work toward running a P&L with weekly reviews and proactive planning.
• Drive health and safety across warehousing and transport; lead the site management teams.
• Oversee accreditation and food safety across all sites and establish a strong governance framework.
• Integrate acquisitions, align systems and standards, and build succession for growth.
• Develop measurement frameworks, improve reporting, and drive consistency across sites.
