Job summary

Sharp Consultancy in York is seeking a high-impact Financial Controller (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) to lead day-to-day financials and partner with the board. You will own management accounts, audit liaison, and drive performance across operations, sales and finance, while developing a fast-moving finance team in a multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience as Financial Controller/Finance Manager.
• Experience in manufacturing, retail, engineering or FMCG advantageous.
• Thrives in a high-energy, fast-moving multi-site environment.
• Proactive, commercial mindset and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of day-to-day financials: management accounts, audit liaison and reporting.
• Lead the finance team and develop capabilities.
• Act as a business partner across Operations, Sales and senior stakeholders.
• Support internal controls, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Represent the site at board level alongside the Finance Director.

Job description

Exciting opportunity for a high-impact CIMA/ACCA/ACA Financial Controller to join a dynamic manufacturing group based in York with a wider Yorkshire presence.

This is not your typical FC role. It’s fast-paced, hands-on, and deeply embedded in the business. You’ll be partnering directly with the senior leadership team at board level, presenting to the board monthly, and playing a pivotal role in driving performance and strategic decision-making.

Your duties will include:

• Full ownership of the day-to-day financials: management accounts, audit liaison and reporting.

• Leading the finance team - fostering development and accountability.

• Acting as a true business partner – visible across the business, collaborating with Operations, Sales, and other senior stakeholders.

• Supporting internal controls, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Representing the site at board level alongside the Finance Director.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the experience below:

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified.

• Previous experience at Financial Controller/Finance Manager level

• Proven experience in manufacturing, retail, engineering or FMCG sectors would be advantageous although not essential.

• Someone who thrives in a high-energy, fast-moving multi-site environment.

• Strong communicator with a proactive, commercial mindset.
