This role offers long-term potential, with the possibility for the successful candidate to step into the CFO role at the end of the current private equity investment period. You will work closely with the CFO to build a top-tier Finance Control function, integrate a newly acquired business, and support the company's ambitious growth plans.

Position Summary

We are seeking a commercially minded Group Financial Controller capable of operating at pace with proven experience in scaling and modernising control functions. This key role involves building a high-performing finance team focused on excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Group Finance Control function, ensuring smooth operations and effective processes.
• Oversee group reporting, transactional finance, and management accounting teams.
• Manage a team of over 30 professionals across London, the US, and remote locations.
• Ensure effective management of key control processes, including audit, tax, treasury, and financial controls.
• Take responsibility for group tax and treasury, managing the Head of Tax.
• Support the implementation and integration of a new finance ERP system.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities, including offshoring resources where appropriate.
• Lead the integration of the recently acquired business, focusing on target operating model and cultural alignment.
• Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and support future acquisitions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, providing strategic guidance beyond financial control.
• Collaborate with commercial leaders to emphasize controls as the business scales.
• Oversee the group’s risk and governance framework, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
• Lead procurement strategies, focusing on cost reductions and ESG improvements within the supplier base.

Required Experience

• Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm preferred.
• Background in a private equity-backed company, ideally in a similar or slightly more junior role, seeking the next career step.
• Strong financial control experience, with commercial finance knowledge as an advantage.
• Experience deploying new finance systems is valuable.
• Proven leadership in managing teams across multiple geographies.
• Track record of driving control improvements, upskilling teams, and modernising finance processes.
• Experience managing transactional finance teams and operational improvements.
• Commercially minded Financial Controller with core financial control expertise.
• Proactive problem solver capable of driving initiatives with creativity and pragmatism.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders and handling difficult conversations.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and completing projects.
• Results-oriented with a pragmatic approach to execution.
