Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.

The successful candidate will include:

• Prior experience in a busy credit control team,
• Strong financial understanding,
• Problem-solving abilities,
• Leadership skills to manage a team,
• Self-motivation and drive,
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing relationships with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and assisting with renewal negotiations,
• Leading monthly meetings with senior management,
• Providing management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
• Overseeing cash collection for all group companies,
• Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
• Managing the Credit Control Department and team proactively,
• Processing credit applications and providing PODs,
• Making major or sensitive credit decisions,
• Controlling credit limits,
• Handling litigation, insolvency, and pursuing claims,
• Setting credit policies and managing credit notes,
• Conducting risk assessments for existing accounts and new credit applicants,
• Maintaining relationships across departments,
• Reviewing Terms and Conditions for sales,
• Visiting customers and sites as needed.
