Group Credit Manager – Head Office

An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. Responsibilities include overseeing credit activities, managing risk, developing credit policies, and leading the credit team. The position is based at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience in a busy credit control environment,
• Possess strong financial understanding,
• Be a problem solver,
• Be confident in leading a team,
• Be self-motivated and driven,
• Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Key tasks include:

• Managing relationships with Credit Insurers, monitoring limits, submitting claims, and negotiating renewals,
• Leading monthly meetings with senior management,
• Providing management information on debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
• Overseeing cash collection for all group companies,
• Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are effective,
• Managing the Credit Control team,
• Processing credit applications and PODs,
• Making major or sensitive credit decisions,
• Controlling credit limits,
• Managing litigation and insolvency claims,
• Setting credit policies and managing credit notes,
• Assessing risks for existing and new credit accounts,
• Maintaining relationships with internal teams and customers,
• Reviewing sales terms and conditions,
• Visiting customers and sites as needed.
