Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.

The successful candidate will:

• Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
• Possess strong financial understanding,
• Be capable of problem-solving,
• Be confident in leading a team,
• Be self-motivated and driven,
• Possess excellent communication skills, as the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the company's credit function.

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as the primary contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims promptly, assist in renewal negotiations,
• Organize and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
• Provide management information to highlight bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
• Manage cash collection for all Group companies,
• Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and followed,
• Oversee and proactively manage the Credit Control Department,
• Handle credit applications, PODs, and major credit decisions,
• Control credit limits and manage litigation and insolvency cases,
• Set and review credit policies and risk assessments,
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
• Review sales Terms and Conditions, visit customers and sites as needed.
