Job summary

Net Zero Careers Accelerator is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our friendly team delivering high-quality garden care to Housing Association sites in Slough.

This hands-on outdoor role requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather, operate grass cutting machinery, strimmers and hedge cutters, and maintain lawns, borders and plant beds. You will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with optional Saturday overtime and an annual salary from £27,352.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds or garden maintenance.
• Ability to operate grass cutting machinery and tools safely.
• Full UK manual driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out communal grounds maintenance across multiple sites.
• Operate grass cutting machinery, strimmers and hedge cutters safely.
• Maintain flower beds, shrubs and planted areas.
• Apply weed control treatments (spraying experience preferred).
• Complete litter picking and keep areas clean and presentable.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and use PPE correctly.
• Work as part of a team to complete scheduled work.

Job description

• Carry out communal grounds maintenance to a high standard across multiple sites
• Operate grass cutting machinery, strimmers and hedge cutters safely and effectively
• Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning and general garden maintenance
• Maintain flower beds, shrubs and planted areas
• Apply weed control treatments (spraying experience preferred)
• Complete litter picking and keep communal areas clean and presentable
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and use PPE correctly
• Work efficiently as part of a team to complete scheduled work

• Experience with grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, pruning and general landscaping
• Spraying experience is desirable
• Full UK manual driving licence with no previous motoring convictions or disqualifications
• Must be over 21 years of age (fleet insurance requirement)
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team
• Eligible to live and work in the UK, Grounds or garden maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
• Licence/Certification: Full UK Manual Driving Licence (required)
• Right to Work: You must have the right to work in the UK
