Job summary

Net Zero Careers Accelerator (NZCA) is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain communal gardens for Housing Association sites in Orpington and surrounding areas.

The role is outdoors, physical, and requires a keen eye for detail. Full UK manual driving licence held is required. Company vehicle provided during working hours and generous pension is included.

Qualifications

• Previous grounds maintenance or garden maintenance experience preferred
• Experience with grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, pruning and general landscaping
• Spraying experience is desirable
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence is required
• Eligible to live and work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Carry out communal grounds maintenance to a high standard across multiple sites
• Operate grass cutting machinery, strimmers and hedge cutters safely and effectively
• Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning and general garden maintenance
• Maintain flower beds, shrubs and planted areas
• Apply weed control treatments (spraying experience preferred)
• Complete litter picking and keep communal areas clean and presentable
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and use PPE correctly
• Work efficiently as part of a team to complete scheduled work

Grounds Maintenance Operative - Orpington

We are currently seeking a

hardworking and reliable Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a growing team delivering high-quality communal garden maintenance services to Housing Association clients across

Orpington and the surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role requiring applicants to be physically fit and capable of working in all weather conditions. If you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in maintaining green spaces, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out communal grounds maintenance to a high standard across multiple sites
• Operate grass cutting machinery, strimmers and hedge cutters safely and effectively
• Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning and general garden maintenance

Requirements

• Monday to Friday
• 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
• Optional Saturday overtime available
• Salary from £27,352 per annum, depending on experience
