Job summary

LGBT Jobs in Bradford is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to deliver a reliable service across Incommunities spaces. You will work as part of a team to keep outdoor areas safe, neat and well-signed to customers.

The role requires practical grounds maintenance knowledge or the willingness to learn, a full UK manual driving licence, and a basic DBS check with right to work in the UK. Training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in horticultural or arboriculture roles.
• Full UK manual driving license required.
• Willingness to obtain DBS check and work in the UK.
• Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and complete paperwork.
• References from at least two suitable sources.

• Deliver grounds maintenance services with a focus on customer satisfaction and sustainability.
• Work in a team to keep Incommunities spaces safe and well-presented.
• Carry out tasks including grass cutting, shrub bed works and site clearance.
• Operate heavy equipment and transport to/from the van.

Job description

Pay: Starting salary of £26,787 per year

Duties include:

• Deliver a grounds maintenance service based on customer involvement, satisfaction and sustainability
• Work as part of a team to maintain all Incommunities spaces to a high standard of appearance and safety
• Carry out a wide range of grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, shrub bed works and site clearance works
• Comfortable using heavy equipment and carrying this to and from the van
  You will be a star performer if you:
• You have experience using a ride on mower, walk behind and stander
• You have basic grounds maintenance knowledge or the willingness to learn
• You have previously used tools such as mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers and back pack blowers
• You are an excellent team player with good communication skills
• You are self motivated, respectful, trustworthy and punctual
  Requirements
• Practical experience in a horticultural or arboriculture role and/or a qualification in this area
• A full UK manual driving license is essential and willingness to pull a trailer
• The ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete relevant paperwork
• At least 2 suitable references
• The willingness to work outdoors in all weathers and on all ground terrain types
• A general awareness of Health and Safety including safe site working practice
• A good work ethic and customer service skills to interact with our customers who may on occasion approach the grounds team with queries
• Right to Work in the UK - Visa Sponsorship is not available
• A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process
