Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Are you an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative, Groundskeeper, Gardener or Landscape Operative looking for a temporary job in Ashford, Kent?

We are recruiting for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a well-established organisation, maintaining parks, public open spaces, landscaped areas and recreational facilities across the Ashford area.

This is a hands-on outdoor role, ideal for someone with previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, parks maintenance or horticulture who takes pride in keeping outdoor spaces safe and well maintained.

The Role

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, your duties will include:

• Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers
• Strimming, edging and hedge cutting
• Pruning shrubs and maintaining flower beds and landscaped areas
• Planting seasonal flowers, trees and shrubs
• General gardening and grounds maintenance
• Litter picking and keeping parks and public areas clean and presentable
• Assisting with seasonal and general estate maintenance
• Safely operating grounds maintenance machinery and equipment
• Following Health & Safety procedures at all times
• Driving company vehicles between sites

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this Grounds Maintenance Operative position, you will need:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, parks maintenance, horticulture or estate maintenance
• Experience using grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, ride-on mowers, strimmers and hedge cutters
• Full, valid UK driving licence - essential
• A practical, hands-on approach and good attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours & Pay

• £13.20 per hour
• Monday to Friday
• 7:30am - 4:00pm
• Weekly pay
• Immediate start available
• Potential for ongoing work for the right candidate

Important Information

A full UK driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive company vehicles between sites.

Successful candidates will also be required to pass a pre-employment drugs and alcohol test before starting work.
