Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment in Slough is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Skilled Operative to maintain parks, gardens, and public spaces to a high standard. You will carry out duties with various grounds equipment and provide on-site support to a small team.

Applicants should have grounds maintenance or horticulture experience, knowledge of health and safety, and the ability to work independently or with others.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping.
• Experience using grounds maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience leading or supporting a small team is desirable.
• Relevant horticultural or grounds maintenance qualifications/certificates are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of grounds maintenance and horticultural duties.
• Maintain parks, gardens, open spaces, roadsides and other public areas.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Take day-to-day responsibility for allocated work and provide on-site support to a team of up to 5 staff.
• Ensure the safety of colleagues, members of the public and yourself.
• Report hazards, incidents and close calls.
• Use in-cab and handheld devices to update completed work and monitor progress.
• Liaise with the office regarding any issues arising during the working day.
• Ensure gates, barriers and premises are secured after work is completed.
• Safeguard keys and equipment at all times.
• Provide a high standard of customer service and assist with maintaining safe and attractive public spaces.
