Job summary

Arup in Leeds is offering an Industrial Placement in Ground Engineering, giving you hands-on experience across site investigations, ground modelling and early-stage design in a global consultancy.

You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams on major ground-related projects, develop practical skills, and start on 1 September 2027. This placement forms part of Arup’s commitment to nurturing future engineers and researchers.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Ground / Geotechnical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assessing site constraints, geological hazards and ground conditions to help shape projects at their early stages.
• Analysing ground investigation data to derive ground models and parameters for use in design.
• Representing Arup on site during ground investigations, earthworks and other construction activities.
• Delivering Total Design by working closely with other disciplines to provide integrated project solutions.
• Written and verbal communication during all stages of projects, from initial optioneering through to detailed design.
