Job summary

Sainsbury's in the United Kingdom is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring online groceries straight to customers’ doors with energy, warmth and care.

You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, perform safety checks, follow planned routes and adapt to diverse locations, weather and traffic conditions. You may also support store duties when not delivering, contributing to a friendly, efficient service across the team.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it.
• Will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if you’re successful, there’ll be a driving assessment when you join us.
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
• Comfortable handling containers weighing up to 15kg and driving a 3.5 tonne van.

Responsibilities

• Being the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued with a thoughtful, friendly service.
• Driving a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries to customers on time and in great condition.
• Carrying out checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organised, and that customer shopping is secure before setting off.
• Following planned routes and driving safely in varying locations, traffic, weather and road conditions.
• Moving containers weighing up to 15kg and delivering shopping to properties, including steps or longer walks from the van.
• Communicating effectively with customers and handling delays or changes to orders.
