Job summary

Sainsbury's is hiring a Customer Delivery Driver to bring online orders directly to customers’ doorsteps across the local area. You will be the face of the brand, delivering groceries in a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van with care and energy, while ensuring vans are roadworthy and orders are secure.

The role involves following planned routes in various conditions, moving shopping containers up to 15kg, and occasionally helping in-store.

Qualifications

• Over 18 years old and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Complete online driving risk assessment and a driving assessment if successful
• Able to move shopping containers up to 15kg and deliver to various properties
• Willing to work across the store when not delivering and follow planned routes in all conditions

Responsibilities

• Being the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition
• Perform checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organized, and that shopping is secure
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varied locations, traffic, weather and road conditions
• Move containers weighing up to 15kg and deliver to properties that may include steps/lifts
• Communicate with customers, inform delays and handle queries
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed
