Job summary

Sainsbury's is hiring a Customer Delivery Driver to bring online orders to customers' doors with energy, warmth and care. You’ll be the face of the brand as you deliver groceries in a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, ensuring orders arrive on time and in excellent condition.

In this role you’ll perform safety checks, navigate planned routes, handle physical lifting up to 15kg, and communicate clearly with customers about any delays or changes. You may also support store tasks when not delivering.

Qualifications

• Friendly and welcoming with enthusiasm for helping customers.
• Able to drive a larger vehicle safely in different locations.
• Physically capable of moving shopping containers up to 15kg.
• Able to use initiative and make safe decisions on the road.
• Enjoys working independently and as part of the wider store team.
• Flexibility to work across the store and take on new challenges.
• Open to learning and using route/delivery technology.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued.
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition.
• Complete checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organised, and that customers’ shopping is secure.
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in a variety of locations, weather and road conditions.
• Move containers weighing up to 15kg and deliver to properties which may include steps or lifts.
• Communicate clearly with customers about delays or changes to orders.
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed.
