Job summary

Sainsbury's West Green Store in Crawley is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries, follow planned routes, and ensure safe, timely deliveries to customers’ doorsteps.

You’ll need a full UK driving licence, be over 18, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical role. The job offers full-time hours (36 per week) at a rate of £14.73 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview and a driving assessment when joining
• Must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Sainsbury’s has in-cab AI cameras to monitor driver behaviour and safety

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep and provide a thoughtful, friendly delivery service
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition
• Carry out van checks, keep it roadworthy, clean and organized, and secure customers’ shopping
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varied locations and weather conditions
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to properties with steps or longer walks
• Communicate with customers about delays or changes to orders
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed
