Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking an experienced Operations & Delivery Manager – Grid in the UK to lead the delivery of grid connection projects for Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems. You will own grid works from design through energisation, coordinating with DNOs, TSOs and NESO, and managing civil and electrical infrastructure delivery.

The role requires deep expertise in HV/LV installations, 11kV–132kV designs, and strong leadership of multi-site construction teams.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Strong experience in ICP or utility construction delivery, ideally renewable energy connections.
Proven experience managing civil and electrical construction on infrastructure projects.
Strong experience delivering HV installations across 11kV–132kV.
Proven experience delivering LV/MV/HV connection designs across 11kV–132kV.
Deep understanding of NERS accreditation, CDM Regulations, DNO standards and adoption processes.

Responsibilities

Lead delivery of grid connections across 11kV–132kV for Solar PV and BESS projects.
Manage private, contestable and non-contestable works where applicable.
Coordinate design teams and design subcontractors with DNOs, TSOs and NESO.
Ensure timely procurement and delivery of project equipment.
Oversee construction delivery including civil works, substations, HV/LV cabling, switchgear and protection systems.
Lead project commissioning, testing, energisation and handover.
Develop and manage multi-site grid delivery teams and subcontractors.
