Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Senior Grid Manager for a leading renewable energy IPP in the UK. You will lead grid connection activities from origination through energisation across a growing portfolio of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects, engaging NESO, DNOs, TOs, ICPs and other stakeholders.

Reporting into the Head of Development, you will shape grid connection strategy, secure offers, manage grid modelling, and support project financing with due diligence.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in grid connections, power systems, renewable energy, BESS, or utility infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of UK transmission and distribution networks.
• Proven track record securing and managing grid connections for energy projects.
• Familiarity with UK grid regulations and evolving connection processes.
• Experience with NESO, National Grid, DNOs and stakeholders.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection strategy across a large-scale BESS portfolio.
• Secure and manage grid connection offers for utility-scale projects.
• Act as primary contact with NESO, DNOs, Transmission Owners and stakeholders.
• Assess connection opportunities and identify optimal solutions.
• Support land, planning and development teams with grid assessments.
• Manage grid applications, modifications and connection agreements.
• Monitor UK grid reforms and evolving connection processes.
• Oversee grid consultants and technical advisors.
• Support project financing with grid-related due diligence.
• Collaborate with engineering, commercial and construction teams to energisation.
