Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Grid Code Lead to join the Power Station Integration team. You will ensure UK Grid Code requirements are interpreted correctly and embedded into the design, driving plant‑level compliance and collaborating with engineering, regulatory and external partners.

The role offers hybrid working and travel across the UK and internationally, with a focus on delivering compliant power station design and supporting deployment across programmes.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering judgement and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Experience interpreting Grid Code requirements for power projects.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into engineering needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical expert for UK Grid Code requirements applicable to RR SMR.
• Interpret Grid Code obligations and communicate implications to engineering teams.
• Support multidisciplinary teams in implementing Grid Code requirements.
• Develop and flow down Grid Code baselines into system specifications.
• Develop compliance matrices, strategies and assessment methodologies.
• Review compliance evidence from engineering teams and suppliers.
• Identify and escalate Grid Code risks, assumptions and issues.
• Provide input to design reviews, requirements reviews and regulatory submissions.
• Engage with regulators, network operators and international partners.
• Support international deployment by interpreting country-specific Grid Code requirements.
