Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR Ltd. is seeking a Grid Code Lead to join the Power Station Integration team on a hybrid basis from Derby, Warrington or Manchester.

You will drive plant-level Grid Code compliance, interpret obligations for the design, and support teams in implementing requirements across UK and international deployments. The role requires strong engineering judgement, stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence decisions across multiple functions.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in electrical/power systems.
• Experience interpreting Grid Code obligations for energy projects.
• Development of compliance matrices and evidence-based assessments.
• Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into practical engineering requirements.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Proven communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret Grid Code obligations and communicate implications to engineering and programme teams.
• Develop compliance matrices, strategies and assessment methodologies.
• Review compliance evidence produced by engineering teams and suppliers.
• Identify and escalate Grid Code compliance risks, assumptions and issues.
• Provide input to design reviews and regulatory submissions.
• Engage with regulators, network operators, customers and technical specialists as required.
• Support international deployment by interpreting country-specific Grid Code requirements.
• Promote best practice and build organizational capability in Grid Code compliance.
