Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Grid Code Lead to join the Power Station Integration team. Hybrid role with primary locations in Derby, Warrington or Manchester, UK.

You will drive Grid Code compliance across the RR SMR design, interpreting obligations and communicating implications to engineering and programme teams. You will develop compliance matrices and baselines, support international deployment, and engage regulators, operators and customers.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent experience in electrical/power engineering.
• Experience interpreting Grid Code requirements in power projects.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into engineering specifications.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical expert for UK Grid Code requirements applicable to RR SMR.
• Interpret Grid Code obligations and communicate implications to engineering and programme teams.
• Support multidisciplinary engineering teams in implementing Grid Code requirements within their designs.
• Develop and maintain the power station Grid Code requirements baseline and ensure flow into system/equipment specifications.
• Support development of compliance matrices, strategies and assessment methodologies.
• Review and challenge compliance evidence produced by engineering teams and suppliers.
• Identify, manage and escalate Grid Code risks, assumptions and issues.
• Provide input to design reviews, regulatory submissions and country-specific requirements.
• Engage with regulators, network operators, customers and technical specialists as required.
