Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR Limited is seeking a Structural Integrity Lead within its Engineering function to provide technical leadership and governance of pressure-boundary components across the Rolls-Royce SMR power station. Hybrid role with office bases and travel to Derby, Warrington and Manchester.

You will lead the structural integrity elements of the nuclear safety case, support regulatory submissions, engage with regulators, and collaborate with design, materials, manufacturing, quality and NDE

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or related field.
  • Active progress toward or attainment of professional registration.
  • Significant Structural Integrity experience in nuclear or highly regulated engineering.
  • Strong understanding of pressure-boundary components (vessels, piping, valves).
  • Knowledge of design, stress analysis, materials, manufacturing, quality, NDE.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural integrity elements of the nuclear safety case and regulatory submissions.
  • Act as technical authority, providing governance and expert guidance.
  • Support delivery of GDA programme and key engineering milestones.
  • Define and embed Structural Integrity requirements for pressure boundary components.
  • Collaborate with design, materials, manufacturing, quality, and NDE teams for safe solutions.
  • Engage regulators, external partners and suppliers on Structural Integrity matters.
  • Mentor engineers to strengthen capability and nuclear safety culture.
