Job summary

Axcis Education is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants and Student Support Assistants to work across mainstream and SEND schools in Exeter. Roles are primarily full-time with 08:30-15:30 hours and flexible part-time options for suitable candidates.

The positions offer real classroom experience, supporting pupils with diverse learning needs and helping sustain a positive, inclusive learning environment while you balance studies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at university and open to all years.
• Experience working with children or young people preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Patient, proactive and positive approach to support.
• Willingness to attend a face-to-face interview with Axcis.
• DBS check or willingness to obtain one as part of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of learning needs under guidance.
• Deliver targeted interventions in English and Maths as applicable.
• Assist pupils with SEND including autism, ADHD, and speech needs.
• Support students with social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
• Promote engagement, confidence and independence in class.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
