Job summary

Axcis Education is recruiting a caring SEND Classroom Assistant to support pupils with additional needs at a friendly primary school in Southampton. You will work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils access learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Support children with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
• Work with teachers and SEN team to implement individual support strategies.
• Encourage pupil engagement, independence, communication and social interaction.
• Help create a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour throughout the school day.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.

Axcis Education is recruiting a caring and dedicated SEND Classroom Assistant to support pupils at a friendly and inclusive primary school in Southampton. This rewarding role involves working closely with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. This opportunity would suit experienced teaching assistants, support workers, care professionals, graduates, or anyone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Your Role As a SEND Classroom Assistant, you will:

• Provide classroom support to pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Support children with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and learning difficulties.
• Work alongside teachers and the SEN team to implement individual support strategies.
• Encourage pupil engagement, independence, communication, and social interaction.
• Help create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour throughout the school day.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
