Job summary

Step Into Teaching Limited in Oxford is seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to support the delivery of Mathematics lessons and to provide targeted tuition to students. A maths degree holder with enthusiasm for education is ideal, and you will gain valuable classroom experience ahead of teacher training.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, starting September 2026, with term-time only pay of £500–£530 per week pro rata.

• Assist with homework and administrative tasks related to progress tracking.

If you hold a degree in maths, then this could be the ideal position for you. The school are looking for graduates that are enthusiastic about mathematics and have a genuine desire to better the educational outcomes of the pupils they work with.

The opportunity:

• Hold / predicted a maths degree (or related) with a 2:2 or above
• Secondary school in Oxford, Oxfordshire
• Full-time role, Monday - Friday

The successful graduate must:

• A graduate with a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.

Key responsibilities for your role:

• Support classroom activities and assist in delivering Mathematics lessons to students of various age groups and abilities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group tuition to students who need additional help, either inside or outside of class time.
• Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
• Help to monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support students with homework and assignments.
• Assist with administrative duties related to student progress tracking and classroom organisation.
