Job summary

Hoare Lea in Reading is seeking a 2027 Graduate Sustainability Consultant to join our human-centric engineering team. You’ll work across sectors to explore building performance, energy modelling, and sustainability strategies.

From day one you’ll be exposed to projects and supported by mentors on your journey toward Chartership, with formal training and CPD.

Qualifications

• 2.1 degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture or Built Environment or similar
• Understanding of sustainability governance, reporting and climate change adaptation
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Ambitious, flexible and proactive attitude

Responsibilities

• Undertaking building performance simulation and energy-related workstreams with modelling approaches
• Developing energy strategies with clients to lead sustainability innovation on developments
• Assisting in environmental assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM) from design to completion
• Developing knowledge of whole life carbon reporting to support Net Zero strategies
• Collaborating with project teams across sectors and contributing to CPD and learning
