Job summary
Hoare Lea in Birmingham is recruiting for a 2027 Graduate Sustainability Consultant to join our human-centric engineering consultancy.
You will work across healthcare, hotels, retail and residential sectors, with opportunities to engage in energy modelling, environmental assessments, and developing sustainability strategies.
The role offers CPD, mentorship toward Chartership, and a nine-day fortnight with hybrid working.
Qualifications
- 2.1 degree or above in Engineering, Architecture or Built Environment (or equivalent)
- Strong communication, analytical and organisational abilities
- Ability to work in a team and independently
Responsibilities
- Explore multiple sectors from healthcare to hotels, retail to residential.
- Undertake building performance simulation and energy-related workstreams.
- Develop energy strategies with clients to lead sustainability innovation.
- Assist in environmental assessments (e.g., BREEAM, WELL, HQM) from design through delivery.
- Develop understanding of whole life carbon reporting to support Net Zero strategies.
- Engage in continuous CPD and learning opportunities.
- Support development of holistic Sustainability Strategies where needed.
