Job summary

Hoare Lea, a leading engineering consultancy, invites applications for a 2027 Graduate Sustainability Consultant position in Manchester/Leeds. You will gain exposure to building performance simulations, energy strategies, and environmental assessments within a multi-disciplinary team.

As a Graduate, you’ll start on diverse projects across sectors from healthcare to hospitality, with structured development and mentorship guiding you toward Chartership if desired.

Qualifications

• An expected or achieved 2.1 or above degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Architecture, or the Built Environment, or similar
• Appreciation of broader sustainability issues, such as governance and reporting, climate change adaptation and behaviour change
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Friendly, ambitious and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach

Responsibilities

• Undertaking building performance simulation and energy related workstreams using modelling approaches, tools and techniques
• Developing energy strategies with clients to lead sustainability innovation on developments
• Assisting in the delivery of environmental assessments (such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM) from early design stages through to completion
• Developing understanding and knowledge of whole life carbon reporting to support Net Zero strategies
• Continuing CPD and learning opportunities
• Supporting development of holistic Sustainability Strategies where necessary
