Job summary

Hoare Lea in Cardiff invites applications for a 2027 Graduate Sustainability Consultant. You will join a human-centric, planet-conscious engineering consultancy that delivers building services, sustainability and performance solutions across the UK.

From day one you will be exposed to diverse sectors including healthcare, hotels, retail and residential. The role emphasizes energy modelling, building performance, lifecycle carbon reporting and sustainability strategy development, with ongoing CPD

Qualifications

• 2:1 degree or higher in Engineering/Architecture/Built Environment or equivalent
• Broader sustainability issues such as governance, reporting, and climate change adaptation
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Friendly, ambitious and confident individual

Responsibilities

• Undertaking building performance simulation and energy-related workstreams using various modelling approaches, tools and techniques
• Developing energy strategies with clients to lead sustainability innovation on developments
• Assisting in the delivery of environmental assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc) from early design stages through to completion
• Developing understanding of whole life carbon reporting to support Net Zero strategies
• Engaging in CPD and learning opportunities
• Supporting the development of holistic Sustainability Strategies where necessary
