Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley, UK, seeks a motivated engineer to join the Structural Analysis group within the Applied Science department. The role focuses on structural analysis of components, collaborative design optimisation, and influencing test planning for reliability and performance.

We value hands-on experience in FEA, fatigue, and non-linear materials, plus strong communication and team skills.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of FEA is essential.
• Core knowledge in fatigue and non-linear material behaviour is essential.
• Mechanical engineering degree with a 2:1 minimum grade.
• Proficiency in hand calculation is required; Excel/VB or Python would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with the Applied Science engineering team to optimise designs for performance and reliability.
• Capability prospection in simulation and analysis fields.
• Specification and documentation of test requests and stress reports.
