Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team is seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical design engineer in Brackley to contribute from concept to testing and integration on the race car. You will work with senior engineers, developing your skills in a demanding, team-focused environment.

You will use digital and AI-assisted tools, generate 3D models and drawings, and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs deliver peak performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Motorsport Engineering or similar STEM field.
• Knowledge of CATIA V5/3DX is an advantage but not essential.
• Interest in mechanical and composite design, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support senior group members with large mechanical/composite design projects.
• Assist with design and development of innovative components, using digital/AI-assisted design tools where appropriate.
• Generate 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings with manufacturing information and test methodologies.
• Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing to ensure integrated designs that optimise car performance.
• Own components from design through testing to implementation on the race car.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport Engineering or similar STEM subject
