Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to start a career on live infrastructure projects, primarily across the water sector in the South West region. You will gain hands-on experience from day one, supporting cost management and commercial decisions with mentoring and APC preparation.

You’ll rotate across core areas to build technical and commercial skills, while developing professional accreditation and a solid foundation for a future Chartered Quantity Surveyor career.

Qualifications

• Degree (or expected) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management with 2:2 or higher.
• Full UK driving licence or working towards by 2027.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Rotate across key areas to develop skills and progress toward professional accreditation.
• Contribute to cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions for project delivery.
• Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers to obtain best value.
• Track and monitor project costs, valuations and payments to keep projects on track and budget.
• Assist in assessing and managing risks, opportunities and variations.
• Produce clear reports and documentation to support client and project team decisions.
• Develop relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors; engage across teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (2:2 or above)
