Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Graduate Naval Architect for its two-year engineering programme, based in Devonport (Plymouth), Bristol, or Rosyth. You will work on submarine and surface ship projects, gaining hands-on experience in hull form, stability, propulsion, and related systems.

You’ll participate in placements across hydrodynamics, structures, and safety, with structured support, mentorship, and access to professional registration guidance.

Qualifications

• You must have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a BEng, MEng, BSc, or MSc in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Ship Building, Offshore Engineering, Composites, Aerospace, or Ocean Engineering.
• Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions may apply depending on location and business area.

Responsibilities

• Join two-year placements across hydrodynamics, structures, design, stability and safety.
• Move through different teams and gain breadth across naval architecture.
• Receive mentorship and expert-led masterclasses to support your development.
