Job summary

Arup is seeking graduates for Mechanical Building Services Engineer roles across the UK. You will join multi-disciplinary design teams, contributing to low-energy, low-carbon building solutions and advanced HVAC design from day one.

From the outset you’ll work with Revit, IESVE, and other tools to develop systems, perform thermal modelling, and support decarbonisation strategies while gaining professional qualification with a supportive Early Careers team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or Building Services Engineering; strong bachelor considered.
• Studying or completed IMechE, CIBSE or Engineering Council accredited course.
• Full working rights in the UK; no visa sponsorship needed.
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role.
• Recently graduated or on track to graduate before employment starts.

Responsibilities

• Support development of mechanical design concepts emphasizing low energy and low carbon.
• Complete HVAC system design and associated calculations.
• Use software and digital tools to analyse and optimise solutions.
• Develop system designs with 3D modelling (Revit).
• Perform thermal and Building Regulation modelling with IESVE or similar.
• Prepare mark-ups and collaborate with design teams to progress holistic designs.
• Contribute to decarbonisation strategies for operational and embodied carbon.
• Conduct site visits and prepare reports and presentations.
• Evaluate new technologies for sustainable, robust project outcomes.
