Job summary

Terex is seeking a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer in Cookstown to support development and improvement of manufacturing systems, procedures and equipment in a dynamic environment. The role offers exposure to lean techniques and cross-functional teams.

You will work on time studies, ECOs, root-cause analysis, and early prototyping, with a structured pathway for training and career progression. Minimum engineering qualification and ERP/MRP knowledge are desirable, with solid IT skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC / HND Engineering Qualification or Degree.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) advantageous.
  • Competent in Microsoft packages.
  • Experience with 3D modelling software advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Machine Shop and Fabrication advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support review of current manufacturing processes to identify CI opportunities.
  • Establish containment strategy for manufacturing issues with root-cause analysis.
  • Engage lean manufacturing techniques (5S, Poke Yoke, Problem Solves).
  • Implement ECOs for manufacturing processes with communication and record keeping.
  • Complete time studies for accurate production planning and labour management.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem solving and provide tooling/fixtures input.

Job Description: Join our Team: Graduate Manufacturing Engineer Location: Cookstown Hours: 39.75 hours per week

The Graduate Manufacturing Engineer will gain fantastic experience working on the development and improvement of existing manufacturing systems, procedures, and equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supporting the review current manufacturing processes to identify and action continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and implement a containment strategy for manufacturing issues followed by effective root-cause analysis and follow through of agreed corrective actions.
  • Engage best practice lean manufacturing techniques (including 5S, Poke Yoke, Problem Solves) to maximise process flow, to ensure manufacture major sub-components and completed machines.
  • Implement ECOs for manufacturing processes using effective communication and record keeping techniques.
  • Complete time studies to allow for accurate production planning and labour management.
  • Participate and assist in the NPPD process, acting as a representative for production with regards to advice on tooling/fixtures requirements for build, establishing safe work processes, and overseeing the manufacturing of prototypes on the production floor.
  • Take part in cross functional problem solving.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum HNC / HND Engineering Qualification or Degree and ability to demonstrate extensive relevant knowledge through on job experience.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) would be advantageous.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft packages.
  • Experience of 3D modelling software would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Machine Shop and Fabrication would be advantageous.
