Job summary

Stantec in Glasgow invites applications for our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer. You will contribute to ground assessment and geotechnical/geoenvironmental work across infrastructure, water and community-focused projects, joining a friendly ground assessment team in a multidisciplinary environment.

The role includes delivering client reports, desk studies, site characterisation, and ground investigation specifications, with progression towards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Chemistry with keen interest in water sector.
• Graduate programme structure with four days in office per week to support team and guidance.
• Opportunity to work on ground assessment, geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects across infrastructure and water.
• Support towards professional qualifications such as ICE, GSL and/or IES, depending on pathway.

Responsibilities

• Support ground investigations, site characterisation and the preparation of ground investigation specifications and reports.
• Assess geotechnical laboratory data, prepare ground models and support geotechnical design calculations.
• Contribute to geotechnical inputs such as foundations, retaining walls, soil and rock slope stability and earthworks.
• Review historical maps and environmental information to identify potential sources of contamination.
• Evaluate soils and groundwater information, support environmental risk assessments and consider sustainable soil reuse/remediation options.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with technical specialists across Stantec to develop your technical capability.
