Job summary

Stantec invites graduates to join the 2027 Graduate Programme in Leeds as a Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer, contributing to ground assessment and environmental work across infrastructure and water projects.

You will be part of a friendly ground assessment team, delivering client reports from desk studies to ground investigation reports while developing your technical capability through varied project work.

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Chemistry.
• You will analyze geotechnical and geoenvironmental properties and support design calculations.
• You will work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver client reports and recommendations.
• You will assist in ground investigations and site characterisation.
• You will review historical maps and environmental information for contamination sources.
• You will contribute to sustainable soil reuse or remediation considerations.

Responsibilities

• Support ground investigations, site characterisation and the preparation of ground investigation specifications and reports.
• Assess geotechnical laboratory data, prepare ground models and support geotechnical design calculations.
• Contribute to geotechnical inputs such as foundations, retaining walls, soil and rock slope stability and earthworks.
• Review historical maps and environmental information to identify potential sources of contamination.
• Evaluate soils and groundwater information, supporting environmental risk assessments and sustainable soil reuse options.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop technical capability across projects.
