Job summary

Stantec's 2027 Graduate Programme invites graduates to join our Newcastle office as a Graduate Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer. You’ll contribute to ground assessment, geotechnical and geoenvironmental work across infrastructure, water and community projects, joining a collaborative team that supports early career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental/Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Chemistry.
• Adaptability to changing tasks in a graduate role.
• Strong collaborative mindset and problem-solving attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ground investigations, site characterisation and reporting.
• Assess geotechnical laboratory data and support ground model development.
• Contribute to geotechnical design inputs for foundations, earthworks, and slopes.
• Review historical maps and environmental data for contamination sources.
• Support environmental risk assessments and sustainable soil reuse considerations.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop technical capabilities across projects.
