Job summary

COWI in London is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Ground Engineering team for the Summer Intake 2027. You will contribute to UK infrastructure projects while learning from experienced engineers who will guide your path to Chartership.

This role covers geotechnical design, ground investigations, mapping, and modelling. Develop skills in data interpretation, calculations, and reporting with a tailored development plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering or Geology with MSc this summer.
• Aspire to become Chartered Engineer or Chartered Geologist and pursue the path.
• Some practical experience in an engineering environment (year in industry, summer placements, or final year project).
• Interest in engineering geology and geotechnical engineering with curiosity about subsurface behaviour.
• Ability to work in diverse, multi-disciplinary project teams and present findings clearly.
• Commitment to quality, precision and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out geotechnical design activities: data interpretation, analyses, and reporting.
• Perform engineering geological mapping and ground modelling at site scale.
• Support and supervise ground investigations on site.
• Check calculations and drawings from other engineers.
• Promote engineering best practice and use in-house tools.
• Plan workload with project manager and track progress against budget.
• Attend site visits or client meetings.
