Graduate Engineer (Geology) Glasgow joins COWI to contribute to geotechnical engineering design and site work on UK infrastructure projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology with MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Genuine motivation to become a Chartered Engineer or Chartered Geologist.
• Some practical experience in an engineering environment (year in industry, summer placements, or final year project).
• Interest in engineering geology and subsurface behaviour.
• Ability to work within diverse, multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
• Commitment to quality, precision and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out geotechnical engineering design activities from data interpretation to numerical modelling and reports.
• Undertake engineering geological mapping and ground modelling at site scale.
• Support and supervise ground investigations on site across varied conditions.
• Check calculations and drawings from other engineers; develop technical judgment.
• Promote engineering best practice and use of in-house tools like carbon calculation.
• Plan workload with project manager and track progress against budget and programme.
• Attend site visits or client meetings and ensure deliverables are accurate.
