Job summary

Arup invites graduates to join our Ground Engineering team in Nottingham. The role involves investigating ground conditions, modelling data, and supporting early-stage design with Total Design principles across water, energy, rail and highways projects.

We value critical thinkers who embrace new ideas, with GIS/CAD/BIM skills and a willingness to learn. Visa sponsorship is not offered; applicants must have UK working rights and recently graduated or near graduation.

Qualifications

Undergraduate Bachelor's / master's level (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering; Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Sciences; Geology/Geological Sciences/Earth Sciences; Mining Engineering; Geography & Geospatial Sciences; Materials Engineering / Science.
A master's in engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics or Environmental/Contaminated Land Science is desirable.
Skills in GIS, CAD, coding, AI, BIM/3D ground modelling and prior industry experience are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Assess site constraints, geological hazards and ground conditions to shape projects at early stages.
Analyse ground investigation data to derive ground models and parameters for use in design.
Represent Arup on site during ground investigations, earthworks and construction activities.
Deliver Total Design by working with other disciplines for integrated solutions.
Communicate clearly throughout all project stages, from optioneering to detailed design.
