Job summary

Arup in Nottingham is seeking a Graduate Ground Engineer to help assess site constraints, model ground conditions and support early design decisions.

You’ll collaborate with teams to deliver total design, represent on site during investigations, and contribute to safer, sustainable built environments. This is an excellent entry route into geotechnical engineering with hands-on field and design exposure.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate/Bachelor's in Ground/Geotechnical or Civil Eng.
• Full working rights in the UK; no visa sponsorship required.
• Recently graduated or on track to graduate before employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess site constraints and ground conditions to shape early-stage projects.
• Analyse ground investigation data to derive ground models.
• Represent Arup on site during investigations and earthworks.

The Opportunity

We recruit across a range of degree level qualifications across engineering, geology and natural sciences. Your career may develop in many directions from investigating and modelling complex ground conditions, designing foundations, earthworks and tunnels, and remediating land impacted by historical uses including industry and mining. We deliver projects across all markets with a significant volume of water, energy, rail and highways projects alongside site development and buildings.

• Assessing site constraints, geological hazards and ground conditions to help shape projects at their early stages
• Analysing ground investigation data to derive ground models and parameters for use in design
• Representing Arup on site during ground investigations, earthworks and other construction activities
• Delivering Total Design by working closely with other disciplines to provide integrated project solutions
• Written and verbal communication during all stages of projects, from initial optioneering through to detailed design

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

An Undergraduate / Bachelor's level (or equivalent) in Ground / Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering; Geography & Geospatial Science; Materials Engineering / Science with GIS skills and knowledge, previous industry experience and3D modelling,

• Full working rights in the country of application
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
