Job summary

Arup is a global consultancy offering graduate opportunities across engineering, geology, and natural sciences. The role involves investigating ground conditions, modelling ground data, and representing Arup on site, with a focus on total design and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Bachelor's / Master's level (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical related fields.
• Master's in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering/Soil Mechanics is desirable.
• Skills in GIS, CAD, coding, AI, BIM/3D ground modelling are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assessing site constraints, geological hazards and ground conditions to help shape projects at their early stages.
• Analysing ground investigation data to derive ground models and parameters for use in design
• Representing Arup on site during ground investigations, earthworks and other construction activities
• Delivering Total Design by working closely with other disciplines to provide integrated project solutions
• Written and verbal communication during all stages of projects, from initial optioneering through to detailed design

The Opportunity

We recruit across a range of degree level qualifications across engineering, geology and natural sciences. Your career may develop in many directions from investigating and modelling complex ground conditions, designing foundations, earthworks and tunnels, and remediating land impacted by historical uses including industry and mining. We deliver projects across all markets with a significant volume of water, energy, rail and highways projects alongside site development and buildings.

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

An Undergraduate Bachelor's / master's level (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering; Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Sciences; Geology/Geological Sciences/ Earth Sciences; Mining Engineering; Geography & Geospatial Sciences; Materials Engineering / Science. A master's in engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics or Environmental/Contaminated Land Science is also desirable. Skills and knowledge in GIS, CAD, coding, AI, BIM/3D ground modelling and previous industry experience are also desirable but not essential. We also welcome applications from those with or studying for a PhD in a ground engineering related area.

• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
