Job summary
Rider Levett Bucknall is seeking a Graduate Fire Engineer to join the Built Asset Consultancy in Birmingham, with hybrid working arrangements. You will support the fire engineering team from concept through construction, developing fire strategies and calculations under experienced mentors.
The role focuses on applying UK regulations and codes, using CFD/evacuation tools, and contributing to risk assessments across diverse project types.
Qualifications
- Graduate role requiring a degree in fire engineering or related STEM
- Eager to learn and develop practical fire engineering skills
- Mentoring and training will be provided to support career progression
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing fire safety strategies and reports for buildings in line with UK regulations
- Carry out fire engineering calculations including means of escape and smoke control
- Support CFD and evacuation modelling tasks used in fire design
- Contribute to fire risk assessments, audits and site inspections
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external clients
- Keep up to date with fire safety legislation and standards
- Participate in graduate development programs
