Job summary

Amey is seeking a Graduate Environmentalist to join our Midlands team in Birmingham. You’ll work across UK projects, developing practical environmental skills from day one and engaging with clients to support decarbonisation and sustainable infrastructure.

You’ll contribute to environmental assessments, site surveys and compliance work while gaining exposure to National Highways renewals and energy efficiency initiatives in a supportive, hybrid-working environment.

Qualifications

• Environmental degree (2:1 or above)
• Full UK driving licence is desirable
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Team player, self-motivated and fast learner
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental screening and scoping assessments.
• Consult with clients, local authorities and stakeholders.
• Assist in environmental site surveys for air quality, noise and vibration, ecology, arboriculture and the water environment.
• Advise on environmental aspects of projects including Environmental Impact Assessments, ecological studies, energy use and environmental hazards.
• Keep up to date with industry best practice, providing guidance on best methods of practice to meet technical and project requirements for our clients.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and other applicable regulations.
