Job summary

Amey is offering a Graduate Civil Engineer role in our Highways & Transportation Practice in Birmingham. You’ll support a team delivering highway schemes while developing practical engineering skills from day one.

Starting salary £31,000, 40-hour weeks, September 2027 start, and hybrid/flexible working options. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams to create robust, safe, and efficient infrastructure across the UK. Participation in learning and development pathways is supported.

Qualifications

• Civil/ Structural Engineering Degree at Grade 2:1 or above
• Full UK driving License

Responsibilities

• Prepare/ Contribute to technical reports, design proposals, and client presentations.
• Support the delivery of highway engineering projects at national and local levels.
• Contribute to asset management strategies and lifecycle planning.
• Model and analyse options using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, environmental, and transport engineers.
• Develop innovative designs that meet industry standards and guidelines.
• Apply engineering knowledge to deliver robust, safe, and efficient asset management.
