Job summary

Leonardo invites graduates to join its 18‑month Electronics Engineer Graduate Scheme at Edinburgh or Newcastle, delivering real hardware projects across RF, microwave, FPGA and high‑speed digital domains. The programme balances concrete project work with mentoring toward chartership and broad exposure to aerospace hardware engineering.

You start with a £34,000 salary, plus a £1,000 welcome bonus, with a further £1,000 exit bonus on completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s degree, or higher degree (MSc or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
• Preferred degrees include Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Computer Communication and Networks, Cyber Security, Mathematics, Communications Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience across the development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, integration, and test.
• Engage in electronic hardware disciplines such as RF, Microwave, FPGA and High‑Speed Digital Engineering.
• Collaborate with Systems, Software and Mechanical engineers.
• Interface with customers and end users where opportunities arise.
• Receive formal and on‑the‑job training to build hardware design skills for aerospace applications.
