Job summary

Leonardo offers an 18‑month Graduate Programme based in Edinburgh or Newcastle, jumping into real-world projects and world‑class power designs. You’ll be coached to achieve objectives, with potential chartering support and exciting, mentored assignments.

You start at £34,000 per year plus a £1,000 welcome bonus, with a further £1,000 exit bonus on completion. A Temporary Accommodation Allowance may apply under criteria.

Qualifications

• Entry requirements: enthusiastic about hardware design in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Minimum 2:2 Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s, MSc or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• For Graduate Power Engineer: preferred degrees include Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communications, Engineering Physics, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience across the development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines (Systems, Software, Mechanical).
• Interface with customers and end users where opportunities arise.
• Develop power circuit design, switch-mode power supplies, and related control/interface circuitry.
