Job summary

Kier Group is offering a Graduate Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Design Engineer role across our nationwide offices, including Birmingham. The 2-year permanent programme leads to an assistant level with salary potential around £38k.

Starting September 2027, the role supports exposure to Kier's major infrastructure projects and dedicated development through rotations, a site secondment, and a mentor to help achieve a professional qualification.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in civil/structural/geotechnical engineering is required.
• Strong interest in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering and construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and checking of permanent and temporary design solutions.
• Assist with tender and bid-winning support including outline design schemes and feasibility studies.
• Support development of alternative solutions and value engineering.
• Contribute to technical assessment and review of third party designs.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections; attend meetings with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
