Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Graduate Civil / Structural / Geotechnical Design Engineer to join the Kier Design team, based in one of our offices nationwide. Location: Liverpool, Leeds, Penrith, Salford, Norwich, Ipswich, Birmingham, London, Basingstoke, Rushden, Bristol, Exeter.

Starting salary £31,000 per annum on a permanent, full-time 2-year programme, leading to an assistant level role with salary potential of circa £38k. Starting date September 2027.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in civil, structural or geotechnical engineering or closely related discipline.
• Engineering Council accreditation preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm for learning and adaptability to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and checking of permanent and temporary design solutions.
• Support tender and bid-winning activities with outlines and feasibility studies.
• Assist development of alternative solutions and value engineering.
• Review third-party designs and conduct site visits and inspections with clients and stakeholders.
